An ideal meal for guests

Boil the potatoes until just tender, peel, and cut into large pieces. Trim the green beans and cook them in boiling salted water until almost tender. Drain and reserve the water. Cut the smoked pork into large cubes. Brown the pork on all sides in a pan over medium heat using a little fat. Sprinkle the flour over the pork and cook. Deglaze with the milk. Mix well and bring to a boil. Add the cream and mix well. Add enough bean water to make a nice, creamy sauce. Season generously with salt, pepper, and savory. Fill an open casserole dish with the potatoes and beans, pour the smoked pork sauce over them. Sprinkle with the cheese, and place in the oven. Bake at 175°C for 15 minutes. Tip: Of course, you can also use any other seasonal vegetables: broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leeks, or mushrooms. You can also add a very small splash of dry white wine to the sauce. This dish is ideal for entertaining guests. You prepare everything and just put it in the oven when the guests arrive.
