Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 500 g minced beef
- 500 g pork or
- 1 kg minced lamb
- some red wine
- 2 slice(s) rusk, grated
- ½ cup(s) olive oil
- 2 onions, diced
- 4 clove(s) garlic, chopped
- ½ tsp caraway seeds
- 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp butter
- 400 g tomatoes, pureed
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- salt and pepper
- 6 pita bread(s), possibly 12
- 500 g yogurt (10%)
- 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
For the kebab, put the minced meat and mustard in a bowl and mix well with your hands. Cover the bowl and refrigerate. In the meantime, fry the onions and garlic, add the tomatoes and spices. Simmer the sauce for 20 minutes. Now knead the kebab dough again and form it into long rolls. Fry the meat in a pan with olive oil on all sides. At the same time, fry the pitas in olive oil in another pan or pot until golden brown. Meanwhile, prepare the plates. Place a pita on each plate. Pour on the tomato sauce and place 2-3 ready-made kebab rolls on top. Then spoon some yogurt over the kebab and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately. Serve with fresh leaf salad or tomato and cucumber salad.
