Kohlrabi and carrot gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g kohlrabi
  • 1 bunch of carrots
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 cup of cream or Cremfine
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g cheese (butter cheese)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Slice the kohlrabi and carrots. Sauté the finely chopped onions in hot fat and add the vegetables, sauté for about 10 minutes, and season. Layer everything in a greased casserole dish. Whisk together the crème fraîche, cream, eggs, and grated cheese. Season to taste and pour over the vegetables. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 50 minutes.
