Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 500 g kohlrabi
- 100 g double cream cheese with herbs
- 100 ml milk
- 50 g cheese, coarsely grated Gouda
- Salt
- Pepper, white from the mill
- 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Pick the tender heart leaves off the kohlrabi, rinse, pat dry, and chop. Peel the kohlrabi, quarter them, and cut into very thin slices. Mix the cream cheese with the milk until creamy and fold in the kohlrabi leaves. Arrange the kohlrabi in two layers, roof-tile-like, in a small, ovenproof dish, and season generously with salt and pepper. Cover each layer with the herb cream. Roast the sunflower seeds in a dry pan and sprinkle over the kohlrabi. Bake everything in a preheated oven at 200°C (gas mark 3) on the middle rack for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with grated Gouda cheese and bake the gratin for another 15-25 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown. Serve with baguette or rösti.
