Krebbelchen / Lard Baked

The perfect krebbelchen / lard baked recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Spelled flour
  • 100 g Raw cane sugar
  • 6 piece Organic eggs
  • 1 tbsp Tartar baking powder
  • 1 Glass Coconut oil to fry
  • Icing sugar to sprinkle on
  1. Beat the eggs and stir in the sugar until frothy. Add baking powder and flour and mix into a dough, my food processor did that.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a suitable saucepan and then work with two spoons, pour the dough from the spoon into the hot oil and fry. Do not bake too many at the same time because the crabs turn over on their own. Take with a slotted ladle, degrease on kitchen paper and then put in a bowl and sprinkle with powdered sugar – that was a surprise and they were eaten up in no time 🙂
  3. The strangest figures are created when baking ….. we had a lot of fun 🙂 and everyone discovered a different animal in it ….. it was a nice coffee time with very nice people.
