super quick and easy – as a side dish or full meal
Using an onion chopper, finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Then add these to the rice cooker as the first layer. Layer two cups of kritharaki on top. In a measuring cup, mix half a tube of tomato paste, water, stock powder of your choice, pepper, nutmeg, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and gyro seasoning to taste. Pour the seasoned liquid over the kritharaki, close the rice cooker, and switch it on. Once the cooking time is over, crumble the feta and mix it into the kritharaki along with freshly torn basil and thyme. Leave the dish on the rice cooker’s keep warm function for about 10 minutes. Enjoy the kritharaki on its own, on a salad, or with a seared piece of chicken.
