Lasagna "Chili con Carne"

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can of corn
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • ml water
  • 1 pack of lasagna sheets
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • Cumin powder
  • chili powder
  • Cinnamon
  • Paprika powder
  • oregano
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Finely chop the onions and garlic. Brown the minced meat in a little oil in a large, deep pan. Add the onions and garlic and fry briefly. Gradually add the remaining ingredients, except for the cheese and the lasagna sheets. Season to taste. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Alternate the lasagna sheets and the minced meat mixture in a baking dish until all the mixture is used up. The number of lasagna sheets depends on the size of the dish. Bake in the middle rack of the oven for 20 minutes, then sprinkle with the cheese and bake for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is lightly browned. This is a dish that can be prepared well in advance and tastes wonderful with a green salad.
