Lavendula's oriental spread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g pitted dates
  • 50 g apricot(s), dried
  • 1 small garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • some black pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ tsp harissa paste
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp black cumin
  • 300 g cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp oil, preferably nut oil, such as pistachio oil or hazelnut oil
  • possibly milk if the spread is too solid

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 23 minutes

Fruity curry cream cheese with black cumin

Dry roast the black cumin seeds in a pan without oil to release the essential oils. Let cool. In a blender or food processor, grind the dried fruit and garlic clove. Add the spices. Caution: Do not continue grinding after adding the black cumin seeds, as this will destroy the seeds. Mix in the cream cheese and oil. If the spread is too dry or thick, you can stir it into a smoother spread with a little milk. Enjoy on freshly baked bread. This spread tastes so good, even the Sultan would burst!
