Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g Leberkäse, fine
  • 1 small jar of pickled gherkins
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 4 tbsp vinegar, e.g. spirit vinegar
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil, e.g. sunflower oil
  • some salt and pepper, colorful
  • n. B. herbs, mixed, salad herbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cut the Leberkäse into strips (it’s best to buy it sliced straight away). Slice the gherkins. Peel the onion and slice it into rings, ideally using a slicer. Place everything in a large, sealable bowl. For the dressing, add the vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper (preferably freshly ground mixed pepper; don’t be stingy with this, it adds flavor) and season to taste. Let the finished sausage salad sit in the sealed bowl in the refrigerator for about half an hour. The longer it sits, the better the flavor! Fresh farmhouse bread or pretzels go well with it, for example.
