Mandarin jam, grandma's style

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg mandarin(s), peeled, pitted
  • 750 g sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger, fresh, peeled, chopped
  • 20 ml brandy

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Chop the mandarin orange flesh with a blender. Rinse half of the peel thoroughly in hot water, then cut it into very fine strips and mix it into the fruit puree. Mix with sugar, ginger, and brandy, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes while stirring. If the jam has a good set, pour it into jars. Set test: Place a drop of the jam on a cold plate; it should set after a short time.
