Leberkäse Slices with Leek and Onion Topping

  • 150 g Leek ready cleaned
  • 125 g Onions
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 Discs Meatloaf; approx. 200 g.
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 100 ml Cream
  • 125 ml Milk
  • Pepper from the grinder
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 100 g Finely grated mountain cheese
  • 3 Discs Toast or baguette; the size of the meat loaf
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Fry the Leberkäse in a little oil in a pan until golden brown on both sides. Toast bread.
  2. Cut the leek into thin rings and wash, dry well. Peel the onions and also cut into thin rings. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the leek and onion rings in it, turning, for about 5 minutes. Dust with flour and sweat. Deglaze with cream and milk, bring to the boil and season with pepper and nutmeg. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place bread slices in a baking dish. Spread the meat loaf on top. Spread the leek and onion cream on top and sprinkle with cheese. Baked in the oven for about 15 minutes. Garnish with leek rings and serve.
