Limoncello or Orangello

Remove only the outermost peel from the fruit (without the white part; this is best done with a cucumber peeler). Squeeze two fruits, cover the juice with the peels, alcohol, and vodka, and let it rest in a cool, dark place for about three weeks. Then remove the peels from the alcohol (set the alcohol aside) and boil them with the water, the juice of one lemon or orange, and the sugar until the sugar has dissolved. Cover and let this sugar-water-juice-peel mixture steep for another two weeks in a cool place. Then remove the peels, filter, mix with the alcohol, and bottle. Store in a cool place! Tip: Serve Limoncello or Orangello cold over ice before or after a meal.
