Lentil and Millet Patties

The perfect lentil and millet patties recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

approx. 12 pieces

  • 100 g Millet
  • 100 g Lentils yellow
  • 2 Garlic cloves pressed
  • 1 Egg substitute powder vegan
  • 50 g Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • Pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 600 ml Water
  1. Rinse the millet and lentils in a fine sieve (both separately) with hot water.
  2. 2 Fill pots with 3 times the amount (300 ml) of water, add the millet and lentils and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and let it swell on a low level until there is almost no liquid left. Stir every now and then so that nothing burns. Millet takes about 20 minutes, lentils 10-15 minutes. It can get muddy.
  3. In the meantime, mix the egg replacement powder according to the instructions on the packet and set it aside.
  4. When both are ready, put them together in a bowl, mix and let cool.
  5. Add egg substitute and spices and knead with your hands. Add enough breadcrumbs to make a mixture that can be easily shaped into patties.
  6. Either fry them in a pan with oil until crispy on both sides or to save fat, place the patties on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Turn in between.
  7. I did it in the oven to save fat.
