Lentil soup Rudi's style

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 300 g lentils (plate)
  • 300 g pork belly
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 6 small potatoes
  • 2 m.-large carrot(s)
  • e.g. Bockwurst or Wiener
  • Vegetable broth, instant
  • some marjoram
  • possibly salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Quick, easy and delicious with lentils without soaking

Cut the pork belly into small pieces or slices, as desired, add to about half a liter of water, and bring to a boil. Add the lentils along with the remaining water and bring back to a boil with the vegetable stock and marjoram. Simmer for about half an hour. Then add the potatoes and finely chopped carrots and simmer for about another 20 minutes. Add salt if desired. You can also add frankfurters or wiener sausages shortly before the end of the cooking time.
