Ingredients

  • 500 ml Vegetable broth
  • 250 g Canned lentils
  • 200 g Bacon cubes
  • 4 Sharp Debreciner
  • 2 medium Potato
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 2 Chili peppers (if you like)
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder
  • Parsely
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the vegetable stock. At the same time, cook the potatoes with their peel until soft for about 15 minutes, peel and cut into cubes. At the same time cut the Debreziner sausages into slices, if you like it spicier, you can also chop one or two chili peppers. Set everything aside for now.
  • Sauté the coarsely chopped onion in a larger saucepan until translucent, fry the bacon cubes for a few minutes, add the potato cubes, the chopped peppers, sausage slices and paprika powder and pour in the vegetable stock while stirring. Bring to the boil once, add the lentils, stir and let simmer briefly for a few minutes.

Lentil soup with bacon, sausages and potatoes -----

  • An earlier "poor people's meal" has become a classic, especially in autumn and winter. Whether you end up with a soup or a stew depends entirely on the amount of liquid used; water can of course always be emptied. In both cases there are also slices of bread and possibly a dollop of cream in the soup.
