Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 3 lettuce hearts
- 3 tbsp soy sauce, dark
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 1 tsp, heaped brown cane sugar
- 5 tbsp sesame oil, unroasted
- 1 tsp sesame oil, roasted
- salt and pepper
- Chili, fresh
- e.g. Thai basil
- e.g. sesame
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Combine salt, pepper, sugar, soy sauce, and water. Add the finely chopped or crushed garlic and mix until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved. Add the light and dark sesame oils and mix with a fork until smooth. Pour over the cleaned salad and garnish with toasted sesame seeds, chopped chili, and Thai basil, if desired.
