Light cinnamon rolls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 80 g margarine (semi-skimmed)
  • 100 ml milk, 1.5%
  • 40 g agave syrup, alternatively honey, or sugar
  • 300 g spelt flour, type 630
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 20 g sugar, with cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Low in fat, with very little sugar

Preheat the oven to approximately 160°C fan/convection oven or 180°C top/bottom heat. Mix the margarine with the milk and agave syrup, or another sweetener. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add to the margarine-milk mixture. It’s best to knead this mixture using the dough hook on a hand mixer or food processor. Finally, knead the dough thoroughly with your hands. Divide into two pieces and roll each out into a rectangular shape. Brush the dough sheets with egg white and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll up from one end and cut the rolls into slices about 1-1.5 cm thick. Place the resulting rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving some space between the rolls, and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
