Light turkey gyro

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg turkey breast
  • 4 onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • Spice mix for gyros

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

First, cut the turkey breast into strips. Then, peel the onion and slice it into strips, along with the bell pepper. Place the meat, onion, and bell pepper in a bowl. Then, in a smaller bowl, combine the spices with the olive oil and stir into the meat. I let it sit overnight in the refrigerator. Brown the whole mixture until well-cooked and serve with tzatziki and coleslaw, perhaps with flatbread. It’s much lighter, as it uses less oil than buying it from the butcher.
