Liver with onions

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g liver(s) (beef or pork)
  • 2 large onions
  • butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the liver and pat dry with kitchen paper. Slice the onions into thin rings. Put the butter in a frying pan and heat over medium heat. When the butter starts to foam, add the onion rings and fry until translucent. Then remove and set aside. Heat a little more butter in the pan. Add the liver and fry for 4-5 minutes on the first side. Then turn the liver and add the fried onion slices and fry for another 4-5 minutes. Now turn the heat up and expose the liver to a good heat for one minute on the first fried side. The liver and onions should now be ready to serve. You can also season them with pepper and salt afterwards. However, I prefer the pure flavor of liver and onion. This goes well with mashed potatoes.
