Pour the black tea into a tea infuser. Bring the water to a boil and pour it into a heatproof container. Hang the tea infuser in the tea bag. Let the black tea steep for at least 3 minutes. Or longer, depending on your taste. Meanwhile, squeeze the lemons or—for those who are lazy—squeeze ready-made lemon juice directly into a carafe. If using freshly squeezed lemons, run the juice through a tea strainer. Remove the tea infuser after the desired steeping time. Sweeten the still-hot black tea with sweetener. If using stevia tablets, be sure to use a good quality, as almost all varieties have a more or less strong licorice flavor. A mixture of ½ stevia and ½ cyclamate/aspartame has also proven successful. After the sweetener has dissolved, add the ice cubes and let them melt. Effect: The drink is pre-chilled and already diluted to a drinkable level. Pour the sweetened and pre-chilled black tea into the carafe with the lemon juice. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve, or serve immediately with more ice cubes and a slice of lemon on the rim. It has an incredible 42 kcal and 0.2 BE per liter!
