Summer iced tea

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 tea bags (black tea)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • some ice cubes
  • 1 lemon(s), possibly 2, as desired
  • 1 sprig(s) mint
  • 1 shot of syrup, elderflower
  • some water, cold, or sparkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Lemon, elderflower, and mint iced tea

First, prepare a pitcher for the iced tea next to the ingredients. Fill the pitcher two-thirds full with ice cubes and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. Meanwhile, steep two black tea bags in a cup of boiling water (I personally recommend Earl Grey and let it steep for about five minutes). Then, empty the cup of tea into the pitcher with ice cubes. This prevents any bitterness from developing. Now slice the remaining half lemon, and another one if desired, and add it to the drink. Add a dash of elderflower syrup and mint, if desired. Fill the pitcher a little with cold water, mix everything together, and chill in the refrigerator.
