Low-carb gyro pan

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 600 g gyros meat, seasoned
  • 125 g cocktail tomatoes
  • 2 bell peppers, orange, yellow or red
  • 125g tzatziki
  • 2 tbsp processed cheese, optionally with herbs
  • e.g. oil or margarine
  • e.g. parsley for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Brown the gyro meat in oil or margarine in a pan. Add the tzatziki and the melted cheese. When everything is creamy, add the chopped bell peppers. Simmer on low heat until the bell peppers reach the desired consistency. Turn off the heat, add the halved tomatoes, and stir once. Tip: Serve the non-low-carb version with rice. However, this requires more sauce. You could add more melted cheese or extra cream here. Note: Not all pre-seasoned gyros are low-carb. Please check this when purchasing. Of course, you can also buy strips of meat and make the marinade yourself. This recipe is designed for two big eaters.
