Lush Pea Stew

The perfect lush pea stew recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Split peas (green)
  • 150 g Chickpeas
  • 1 liter Vegetable soup
  • Celeriac
  • Carrots
  • Leek
  • Shallots
  • Ginger
  • Olive oil
  • Tabasco sauce

Boil peas in vegetable soup

  1. The split peas should simmer in the vegetable soup for about an hour. In the meantime, you can chop the celery and the peeled carrots and add them after about half an hour.
  2. Leeks, shallots (or small vegetable onions) and finely chopped ginger (if necessary, ginger powder can also be seared at the end to taste) are seared in olive oil in the pan
  3. Now everything, including the chickpeas, is added to the large pot, just let it boil briefly. But: when it comes to seasoning, opinions differ. Lately I prefer Thai curry and Tabasco. But there are no limits to the imagination.
