Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g pasta
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- ¼ cup tomato paste
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp paprika
- 300 g mozzarella, grated
- 125 g salami (mini salami), sliced
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Cook the pasta in lightly salted water according to the package instructions until slightly firm to the bite. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large casserole dish over medium heat. Stir in the flour and simmer for 1 minute. Then add the tomato paste and milk and stir to combine. Continue simmering until the sauce is thickened. Season with oregano, paprika, and salt. Mix the cooked pasta and half of the mozzarella with the sauce until evenly coated. Spoon the remaining mozzarella over the pasta and finally top with the salami. Place the casserole dish in the hot oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, until the salami is slightly crispy.
