The basic recipe for quick Star Wars cake
A quick Sachertorte is a good base for a Star Wars cake. The color of this matches the motto, and the classic among cakes is popular with everyone.
- You will need 250g granulated sugar, 220g oil, 300g flour, 220g cooking chocolate, 9 eggs, 1 pack of baking powder, 1 pinch of salt, and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. You will also need apricot jam to spread the cake.
- First, melt the cooking chocolate – either in the microwave or in a water bath. Beat the eggs with the sugar until fluffy. Then slowly stir in the oil, melted cooking chocolate, and cocoa powder.
- Mix the baking powder and a pinch of salt with the flour in another bowl and fold into the stirred mixture. Then pour the finished dough into a greased spring bowl.
- Place the cake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees. Leave the cake in the oven for an hour on top and bottom heat. You should then let the cake cool down, remove it from the springform pan and cut it in half. Spread the base with apricot jam and then cover it again.
Decorate a Star Wars cake – but how?
With a special decoration, your Star Wars cake looks great.
- All you need to decorate your cake is black and white fondant, star cutters in different sizes, white sugar pearls if necessary, glitter powder, a brush, and figures for decorating.
- First, the cake is covered with black fondant. Shape the fondant into a ball and roll it out into a thin circle. Carefully lift the fondant circle onto the cake and smooth it out. Cut off the leftovers. A pizza roller works well for this. Use the brush to spread some glitter powder on the cake. This ensures the space look.
- Then roll out the white fondant on a clean surface and cut out the stars. You need a big star and several small ones. Place the large star in the middle of the cake. You can also coat this star with glitter powder because Darth Vader will later be placed on it. The small stars are distributed all over the cake as you like it best. The stars stick better with a dab of icing sugar or food glue.
- For example, you can use lightsabers that you stick on the edge of the cake as a perfect decoration. For example, a Darth Vader figure with a candle is suitable for the middle.
Star Wars Cupcakes
Small cupcakes are perfect as finger food at a theme party. These are also easy to make and there are no limits to your imagination when it comes to decoration.
- Chocolate or vanilla muffins are very suitable as a combination with the Sachertorte.
- For the cream you need 100 g butter, 300 g powdered sugar, and 200 g cream cheese (preferably double cream). The butter should be at room temperature and the cream cheese should be cold. Stir the butter until fluffy. Then gradually stir in the sifted powdered sugar. The cream cheese is added at the very end. Mix everything together on the lowest setting of the mixer. Make absolutely sure that you do not mix for too long, otherwise, the cream will become too runny and no longer easy to squirt.
- Divide the cream into four equal parts and color each part with a color. Use colors in light blue, dark blue, black and violet.
- Fill the colored cream into a piping bag with a star nozzle. Then you can decorate the cupcakes however you like. The lightsabers from the cake would also go well on the cupcakes.
