Make Coffee Pads Yourself – That’s How it Works

The equipment and ingredients for the coffee pods

You don’t need many kitchen appliances to make the coffee pods yourself. These are the tools you need:

1. Coffee
2. Small funnel
3. Iron
4. scissors
5. wooden board
6. Small spoon
7. Tea filter (from 3 cents each)
8. pencil or felt-tip pen
9. An unused coffee pod from your coffee machine as a model

Make your own coffee pods: Here’s how

• After placing a tea filter on the wooden board, place the coffee pod over it. Then trace the outline of the coffee pod.
• Now the iron is used, which you set to a low level (silk or wool). When the iron is warm, iron around the drawn outline and use it to weld the tea filter. Leave a small spot open so that you can then fill in the coffee.
• Use the funnel to fill the coffee into the pads and then seal this area as well.
• Finally, cut the coffee pod to size and then enjoy the first coffee with a self-made pod.

Simplified production of coffee pods

If the production method described above is too time-consuming for you, we have two alternatives for you that will save you time, but not necessarily money.

1. You can also use ready-made coffee pad cases, which you then fill with your favorite coffee. However, the coffee pod cases cost about twice as much as the homemade ones.
2. Some coffee machine manufacturers also offer refillable coffee pods. However, the permanent coffee pods are usually tied to specific coffee machines.
