Make Fries From Parsnips Yourself – that’s How It Works

Prepare parsnip fries in the oven

If you would like to prepare fries, the well-known fast food classic, in a different way, simply use parsnip. The root vegetables taste slightly nutty and are very easy on the stomach. Preparing the parsnip fries in the oven saves fat and stays true to the healthy line.

  1. First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat.
  2. Now peel the parsnips and cut them into thin chips-like sticks.
  3. Then make a marinade for the parsnip sticks. Use oil, salt, pepper, and paprika powder or vegetable broth for this.
  4. Toss the parsnips in the marinade and place the vegetable sticks on a baking sheet. Make sure there is enough space between the fries.
  5. Bake the parsnip fries at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes.

Alternatively: Fry the parsnips

If you prefer to fry the parsnips, you can prepare them in the fryer. The fries are ready just as quickly as they are in the oven.

  1. Peel the parsnips and cut the vegetables into similar-sized sticks.
  2. Before the parsnips can go into the fryer, they have to cook in boiling water for a few minutes. Then pat the fries dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. Now heat the oil in the fryer to 180 degrees and fry the parsnips for about 2 minutes until they are crispy.
  4. Then season the parsnip fries with salt, paprika, garlic, or another spice of your choice.
