Mama's meatballs with pretzels

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 pretzel(s) (from the previous day)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 200 ml milk
  • ½ bunch parsley, chopped
  • 1 onion(s)
  • some clarified butter
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • e.g. mustard
  • some water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel and dice the onion. Lightly fry half of the onion in the pan and deglaze with a little water. Repeat this process two more times. Place the raw onions, braised onions, minced meat, egg, and finely chopped parsley in a bowl and mix. Gently heat the milk, cut the pretzel into pieces, and place them in the milk. The pretzel pieces can be a little larger. After about five minutes, lightly squeeze the pretzel cubes, add them to the minced meat, and mix. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard. With slightly damp hands, form the minced meat into balls and fry them in a pan in clarified butter.
