Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 fish fillets (matjes fillets)
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 2 apples
  • 125 ml cream
  • 200 g quark
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • lemon juice
  • sprig(s) of dill

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Rinse the herring fillets with water and pat dry. Remove any remaining bones and cut the fillets into bite-sized pieces. Peel the onion and slice into rings. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Whip the cream until stiff. Mix the quark well, fold in the cream, and carefully combine with the herring pieces, onion rings, and apple slices. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice and refrigerate for a while. Serve garnished with dill.
