Matjes with Curry Ketchup Sauce

The perfect matjes with curry ketchup sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Fresh shallot
  • 1 thickness Pickled cucumber
  • 150 Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Hot paprika powder
  • 4 Stems Parsley
  • 4 Herring fillets
  • Salt
  1. Cut the shallot into thin rings. Cut the pickled cucumber into thin slices.
  2. Mix the ketchup with the curry and paprika powder. Mix in the shallots and cucumber. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems and chop finely. Mix with the curry ketchup sauce and season with salt.
  3. Serve the matjes with curry ketchup sauce. We also had jacket potatoes.
