Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 100 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 50 g butter, melted or oil
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • e.g. milk
  • Flour for working
  • Fat for the mold
  • 50 g butter, melted
  • e.g. apples or plums
  • n. B. sugar
  • some cinnamon powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

a Bavarian pastry

Knead the dough from flour, butter, quark, egg, and salt with a little milk. Shape into a log and divide into approximately 12 portions. Roll each portion out on a lightly floured surface to about 20 cm in diameter. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with chopped apples. Sprinkle with sugar (and cinnamon) and roll up. Slightly press the ends together. Place the Maultaschen tightly together in a greased roasting pan or casserole dish. Bake in an oven preheated to 200–220°C for approximately 30 minutes.
