Maultaschen with cheese and cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 Maultaschen
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 50 g breakfast bacon
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml meat broth or vegetable broth
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g grated cheese (Gouda, Emmental, mountain cheese, etc.)
  • salt and pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • Paprika powder
  • Parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cook the Maultaschen for 10 minutes. In the meantime, peel the onion and finely chop it along with the bacon. Brown both, stir in 2 tablespoons of flour, and pour in the broth. Add the cream and season with salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, and ginger. Stir in the grated cheese and let it melt. Arrange 2 Maultaschen per person on a flat plate and drizzle with the cheese and cream sauce. Garnish with a little parsley and serve immediately. Tip: Serve with a mixed salad and baguette.
