Meatballs in cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 125 ml sweet cream
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp gravy
  • 3 tbsp roux, dark
  • 4 tsp cranberry compote

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Swedish meatballs

Mix the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, and two tablespoons of cream together thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper and form into approximately 25 meatballs. Brown in hot oil until browned, then remove and set aside. Pour 375 ml water and the remaining cream into the pan. Add the meat juices and bring to a boil. Stir in the roux and cook for one minute. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Add the meatballs to the sauce and heat through. Serve with cranberries. Serve with mashed potatoes or potato croquettes.
