Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, half and half
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 200 ml cream
  • 2 ½ tbsp onion(s), finely chopped
  • 50 ml breadcrumbs
  • 2 potatoes, boiled (cold)
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper, white

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Swedish meatballs

Fry the finely chopped onions in a few tablespoons of oil until golden brown. Mash the potatoes and soak the breadcrumbs in a little water. Mix the 500g of ground meat and the other ingredients until smooth and season with plenty of salt and white pepper. Brown all over and serve with cranberries (lingonsylt), mashed potatoes (potatismos), and brown gravy (brunsås) for a truly Swedish dish.
