Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 roll
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 100 g cooked ham, sliced
  • 150 g cheese (Bavaria blu, alternatively Danablu)
  • 4 tomatoes
  • ½ bunch of dill
  • nutmeg
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Combine the meat with the soaked and squeezed bread roll, egg, and finely chopped onion to form a meat dough. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and paprika. Place half of the mixture into a greased and breadcrumbed loaf pan. Wrap ham slices around the thickly and thinly sliced ​​cheese pieces, press them into the center of the meat dough, spread the remaining dough over the meatloaf, and press down firmly. Bake the meatloaf in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 60 minutes. Let the meatloaf cool slightly, remove it from the pan, and serve sliced. Garnish with tomato wedges and dill. Serve with mashed potatoes and a fresh salad.
