Medieval herb rolls

Ingredients for 15 servings:

  • 600 g flour
  • 2 bags of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 350 ml water, warm
  • Parsley
  • chives
  • Thyme
  • basil
  • marjoram
  • savory

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Combine flour and yeast, add salt and sugar, water, and any herbs you like, and knead the dough. Let it rise for 10 minutes. Knead again, then form into balls. Place on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 20 minutes. Whisk the egg yolk with a little water and brush the rolls with it. Bake for 40 minutes at 200°C (preheat oven!), middle rack.
