Mix the butter with the vanilla sugar and sugar. Stir in the egg, flour, and baking powder and knead well. Divide the dough into 3 portions. Use about 3/5 for the red dough and 1/5 each for the light and green dough, making sure the green dough is larger. Add a few drops of food coloring to the red and green dough and knead both well for a nice color. Form the red dough into a log and roll out the light and green dough. Wrap the light dough and then the green dough around the red log. Place the finished log in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Roll the dough so that the different colored pieces stick together well. Cut the log into slices. Halve each cut circle and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place 2 chocolate chips on the melon cookies and bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for 15 minutes.
