Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g bread(s), dry, dark, finely sliced
  • 1 ½ liters of meat broth (possibly instant)
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s), cut into fine rings
  • 30 g lard (or butter)
  • salt and pepper
  • Chives, in rolls or chopped parsley

In a pan, toast the finely chopped onion rings and the thinly sliced ​​bread (you can dice it finely). Pour in the hot meat broth, let it simmer for another 10 minutes, and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Serve. Ladle into soup bowls and garnish with chives or parsley.
