  • 7 milk slices
  • 1 cup of cream, 200 g each
  • 400 ml milk

  • 100 ml rum
  • 100 ml Amaretto
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some lemon peel, grated
  • some honey

Schnapps, mild and delicious

Combine all ingredients except the last three in a saucepan or mixing bowl, such as a Thermomix, and heat gently, stirring gently, but do not bring to a boil. The cream from the Milchschnitte will separate from the “bread layer” as it heats, blending beautifully with the remaining ingredients. Add honey, a pinch of salt, and some grated lemon zest to taste. Strain the mixture through a sieve, pour into a bottle with a capacity of approximately 1 liter, and chill the liqueur. If the alcohol content is too low for you, you can increase the amount of rum. I would leave the Amaretto as it is, however, as it would otherwise overpower all other flavors. If you prefer it creamier, you can replace some of the milk with another packet of cream. The number of Milchschnitte can also be increased. This mixture has proven successful in some tests, and you won’t feel full immediately after one sip.
