Millet porridge with fruit for cold winter days

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup millet, washed
  • Water
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Cardamom powder
  • Ginger powder
  • Raisins, if desired
  • 2 apples or pears
  • some cream or butter
  • 1 banana(s)
  • some orange juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bring millet to a boil with water, finely chopped fruit (except for the banana), raisins, and spices, and reduce heat to low. Stir in cream or butter. Add mashed banana and orange juice. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and serve. Tip: You can also cook the millet in a rice cooker. It also tastes great with other fruits, and not just in winter, such as cherries, plums, elderberries, etc.
