Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 30 g millet
- 200 ml milk
- 50 ml water
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp jam, e.g. rhubarb-strawberry jam or plum jam, beetroot syrup

A delicious breakfast on cold and dark days
Mix the cold milk with the water in a saucepan and sprinkle in the washed millet. Bring to a boil while stirring, add a pinch of salt, and simmer gently in an uncovered pan for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then let the porridge swell a little longer, if necessary. While the porridge is cooking, the whole kitchen smells like a fairy tale, hence the porridge’s name. Mix the jam or plum jam with a little water and heat. For compote, additional water is usually not necessary. Pour the millet porridge into a deep dish and pour over the sauce. Turnip greens can simply be poured over the finished porridge without heating. The quantity of ingredients is calculated for one serving; for four people, for example, four times the amount is needed.
