Minced Beef

The perfect minced beef recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1500 g Ground beef
  • 3 piece Celeriac
  • 4 piece Carrots
  • 2 piece Red onions
  • 250 g Mushrooms
  • 2 piece Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme
  • 4 piece Bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 0,25 liter Red wine
  • 0,5 liter Beef stock
  • Olive oil
  • Pepper and salt
  1. Finely chop the onions and garlic and cut the carrots and celery into small cubes.
  2. Sear the minced meat in hot olive oil for about 5 minutes, then add the vegetables and fry with them. Add bay leaf, thyme and tomato paste and season well with salt and pepper.
  3. Now deglaze the whole thing with the red wine and simmer for about 10 minutes. Then add the other spices and the halved mushrooms. Top up with the beef stock, reduce the temperature (level 3 of 9) and simmer for approx. 90 minutes.
  4. Finally, season again with pepper, salt and cayenne pepper and serve with fresh vegetables and clapshot (mashed potatoes with 50% swede).
