Minced meat and kidney bean sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef, or mixed
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, diced
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp ajvar
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • n. B. Salt
  • n. B. Pfeffer
  • n. B. Paprika powder, sweet
  • n. B. Thyme, dried
  • e.g. marjoram, dried
  • n. B. Vegetable stock powder

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Brown the minced meat in a little oil. Then add the diced onion and garlic and sauté. Stir in the tomato paste and ajvar and fry briefly. Season generously with the spices and deglaze with the passata. Let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, then add the drained and rinsed kidney beans and heat for another 10 minutes. Season to taste. If the sauce is too thick, simply thin with water and then season again. We served it with jasmine rice and salad, but it also tastes good with pasta, gnocchi, and much more.
