Minced meat sauce with green olives and pasta

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • some oil (walnut or olive oil)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 handful of green olives, pitted
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste, possibly Turkish (Salça)
  • 1 handful of walnuts, chopped
  • 1 handful of peppermint, dried
  • 1 handful of black cumin
  • 1 tbsp beef broth
  • some parsley, dried or fresh
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs of Provence
  • chili powder
  • 500 g pasta (e.g. spirelli)
  • salt water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Dice the onions and fry in a little oil in a deep pan or wok until lightly browned. Add the ground beef and fry. Stir in the tomato salça and chopped walnuts. Add the beef broth, spices, parsley, peppermint, and black cumin seeds and simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of water and bring back to a boil, stirring occasionally. Slice the green olives and fold in. Season again, if desired. Let stand for about 5 minutes, then serve mixed with the pasta.
