Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 500 g steak(s) (minute steaks)
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder
- Seasoning mix (Virginia steak seasoning)
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 small can of mushrooms (drained weight 295 g, sliced)
- some water
- Sauce thickener
- 1 tsp beef broth, instant
- some oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
First, I seasoned the steaks on both sides with a little salt (not too much, or they’ll be tough), pepper, paprika, and steak seasoning. Heat oil in a pan (the bottom of the pan should be completely covered) and fry the meat on high. Once the meat is browned all over, pour in about 1/8 l of beef broth and let it simmer with the steaks on high! Once the broth has reduced to a sauce-like consistency (after about 8 minutes), remove the steaks from the pan, wrap them in aluminum foil, and place the parcel in the preheated oven to keep them warm. Now add the drained mushrooms to the broth and fry them. Then deglaze the pan with the cream, bring the cream to a boil (don’t forget to stir), and thicken the whole thing with a little dark sauce thickener! This goes well with fries, hash browns, or dumplings with peas and carrots. A quick, inexpensive recipe that, at around €4, won’t put a big hole in your household budget.
