Mississippi Spare Ribs

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 spare ribs (shelf ribs)
  • 250 ml sauce (Mississippi barbecue sauce)
  • 8 cl whiskey
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch of chili powder
  • 2 cl Worcestershire sauce
  • Garlic granules
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Spare ribs with barbecue sauce

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Season the spare ribs lightly with salt and pepper. Mix Mississippi sauce, whiskey, honey, garlic, chili, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to make a marinade. Place the ribs on a baking tray with the underside up and brush with the marinade. Add a little water to the tray (just a little). Then place in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. After half an hour, remove the ribs from the oven, drain off the water, and turn them over. Brush the top side thickly with the sauce and return them to the oven for another 30 minutes. If you prefer them a little more browned, you can turn on the grill at the end! Serve with garlic bread and a salad. If you have any leftover marinade, just serve it with the ribs.
