Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter, soft
  • 4 eggs
  • 350 g applesauce
  • 1 bottle of bitter almond flavor
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 150 g sugar
  • n. B. Powdered sugar, optional
  • n. B. Lemon juice, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Whisk the eggs with the butter and sugar. Mix in the applesauce with the bitter almond flavoring, then mix the flour with the baking powder and stir briefly. Pour the batter into a baking dish and bake in the oven at 160°C (convection oven) or 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 45 minutes. Bake a little longer without preheating. Do the toothpick test. This cake tastes especially good with a lemon glaze! Simply mix powdered sugar with a little lemon juice until smooth and cover the cooled cake with it. This makes enough for a 24cm springform pan or a loaf pan.
