Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 12 potatoes (waxy and not too small)
- 3 onions
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp oat flakes
- 2 tsp salt
- lots of oil for frying
- e.g. applesauce
- n. B. sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Grate the potatoes and onions. Mix in the salt, eggs, and oats and stir until smooth. (Never let the spoon sit in the batter, as this will cause water to form!) Add enough oil to the pan (the potato pancakes should float in the oil). Then add tablespoon-sized portions to the pan, smooth the surface slightly, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Finally, drain the potato pancakes on kitchen paper and serve with applesauce or sugar, if desired.
