Mozzarella crispy toasts

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • 250 ml milk
  • 16 slices of toast
  • 2 mozzarella, 125g each
  • 4 slice(s) ham, raw
  • Pepper, green
  • breadcrumbs
  • oil
  • tomato(s)
  • basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Crack the eggs in a bowl, whisk with salt, and add the milk while stirring. Remove the crusts from the toast, halve the ham, and slice to size. Cut each mozzarella into 4 slices. Soak each slice in the egg and milk mixture, then squeeze the excess water lightly. Top eight slices of toast with a slice of ham and mozzarella, and a slice of green pepper. Place a slice of toast on each slice, press the bread together firmly, and coat in breadcrumbs. Heat plenty of oil in a deep pan and fry the toast until golden brown on both sides. Serve the finished toast garnished with tomato and basil leaves.
