Ingredients

  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 2 tsp Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Cinammon
  • 1 tsp Ginger bread spice
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 250 g Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 200 ml Mulled wine
  • 150 g Dark chocolate shavings
  • 60 g Rum raisins
  • Fat and breadcrumbs for the mold

Instructions

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon and gingerbread spice in a bowl. In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter and salt on the highest setting with the hand mixer until creamy for a few minutes. Gradually stir in the flour mixture on a low level, alternating with the mulled wine.
  • Finally, carefully fold in the chocolate flakes and rum raisins. Put the dough into a greased Guglhupf tin sprinkled with breadcrumbs and bake in the preheated oven on the lowest rack at 175 degrees for about 1 hour.
  • Let the cake cool in the mold and then carefully turn it out of the mold. Let it cool down and then, if you like, dust with powdered sugar or cover with a powdered sugar and mulled wine glaze. Chocolate icing also goes well with it.
